Spatiotemporal evolution and driving factors of global production networks: An analysis based on the input-output technique

Global production networks have become the most important organizational platforms for coordinating international activities, and their evolution patterns profoundly affect value distribution across world. In this study, we shall firstly carry out an in-depth quantitative research to analyze of global networks, using a long time-sequenced multi-region input-output table network analysis approach. Then based on method value-added decomposition, will develop index system measure degree participation regions in networks. Finally, try identify factors affecting countries by constructing regression model. The results show that from 1995 2015, measured linkages experienced four stages: expansion, contraction, re-expansion, re-contraction. addition, core communities evolved two major (Europe Americas) three pillars (Europe, Americas, Asia) while more segmented are mainly affected geographical proximity. latter consists European, North American, South African Asian communities. pattern primarily manifests as process cooperation strengthening or weakening among communities, changes external environment need individual development strategies.
